i have pc tools firewall, spyware doctor and avg..but now have the trojan.fakealert virus?

 

 

everyone recommends downloading malwarebytes to get rid of the trojan virus….am i going to have to change my firewall, spyware doctor and avg stuff?

Try out malwarebytes, if that doesn’t work, scan again but in safe mode and with the internet disabled.

    You don’t have to change anything to run Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware. The free version of MBAM doesn’t offer real-time protection so it shouldn’t interfere with anything.

    Although…

    AVG Free really isn’t that great. According to the *official* AVG website, it doesn’t include anti-rootkit or a web shield (two very important features). Furthermore, independent testing has found AVG detection rates to be rather AVeraGe.

    I found its another wonderful feature!
    You can select an authorized disk during encryption. In this way, even if others get your passwords, without the authorized disk they are unable to decrypt your files. Moreover, an authorized disk can free you from memorizing the passwords.
