i downloaded pc tools anti virus and windows said my laptop has critical viruses?

My computer is windows xp and pc tools says i have no viruses, but windows says my computer is in trouble, does anyone have any recommendations. i don’t have 40 dollars for a anti virus, maybe some good free anti virus downloads that are windows compatible

    The windows program telling you that you have a virus is probably a virus itself. Some good free antivirus programs are AVIRA, AVG, AVAST and malwarebytes – all free doiwnloads. Couple of links below, but you can google all of them and see which you prefer…
